The Field Office of the Department of Tourism (DOT) has been on Boracay Island since tourism began, and played and plays an important role in development. The DOT Boracay Field Office has two main functions: to facilitate tourist/guest-related activities and to monitor tourism projects in the island.
The activities of the DOT Boracay Office are mainly Tourist assistance as providing information about transportation rates and schedules, tourist destinations in the island and in nearby areas, visa requirements, accommodations, and other services and facilities in Boracay. Another important activity is community relations.
Often the DOT Office on Boracay acts as a relay office fetching and sending off of guests at either the Caticlan airport, the Kalibo airport, or the Caticlan jetty port. DOT personnel can also provide tour guide services. The Boracay Field Office of the DOT also provides assistance for special projects or events in the promotion and development of Boracay.
