BORACAY DINING
Prana Restaurant

Prana Restaurant reflects the lifestyle philosophy of its owners Karen Reina and Dieter Schrottmann, “prana” being the Sanskit word that means “life force”. Vegetarian food, when cooked right, maintains prana in vegetables thus, delivering vitality. In other words, to eat right is to celebrate life. Eating right means eating well. “I like to eat light. I put in a lot of fruits, salads, fresh herbs and nuts in my diet and can’t resist the espresso companion,” Reina says of her own diet. Such simplicity and refinement is what one experiences while dining at Prana.

The versatile and flavorsome menu was developed exclusively for Mandala Spa by kitchen consultant Julia Lervik and renowned chef Humphrey Navarro, who worked extensively to develop a spa menu that is nutricious, interesting, complete and enjoyable. In no time, island dwellers and visitors caught wind that Mandala Spa was serving more than lettuce and Chopsuey.

It is about having just the right proportions where you are full but not stuffed. The result of this culinary collaboration with the owners, Karen and Dieter, kitchen queen Lervik’s vast experience and expertise, and finally, the flair and creativity of chef Navarro? A symphony of flavors fusing Italian, Asian and French, all laid out in sheer sophisticated elegance, and great value for money, and your health.

Prana Restaurant is open daily, 7 am to 10 pm. For reservations, call 288 5858 or simply drop by. Log on to www.mandalaspa.com.

MANDALA SPA introduces vegetarian cuisine as the ultimate dining experience. Just as there are ways to nurture the mind and spirit through the various massage treatments at Mandala Spa, we go a step further by nourishing the body as well, by reinventing vegetarian cuisine as a healthy alternative on Boracay, where people come to eat, eat, swim, party, and eat again. Those who have been brave enough to sample what Prana Restaurant has to offer, have been coming back, simply because it’s good, oh, and by the way, it’s healthy too!
